Harahan is largely built out, which means much of our future growth will come through redevelopment and new construction on existing properties. I support investment in our city, but new development should fit the neighborhood around it, be supported by adequate infrastructure, and follow clear rules residents and property owners can understand.

Put the Master Plan to work.
Build on Harahan's planning effort and, once adopted, use the new Master Plan to guide future zoning, redevelopment and infrastructure decisions.
Protect established neighborhoods.
Changes to established residential areas should have a clear planning justification and consider the surrounding neighborhood.
Set clear rules for redevelopment.
Review and modernize development standards where needed so they address scale, setbacks, drainage and transitions between residential and commercial property while respecting property rights.
Plan infrastructure with development.
Significant projects should account for drainage, sewer and water capacity, traffic, primary access and emergency access before major approvals are granted.
I support investment and redevelopment in Harahan — especially where thoughtful long-range planning identifies it as appropriate. Responsible growth means the right development in the right places while protecting the neighborhoods people already call home. I want clear rules, good planning, and development that works for the people building it and the neighbors who will live with it.
